You don't know why you made it? Then I guess your subconscious did it and that's even better. Offhand, I'd say that the guy who won the girl here inflicted some damage on the guy whose hand is bleeding. The winner has no wings. The loser has wings. The clear message is that the bad guy wins the girl's heart. The good guy bleeds. Isn't that how it goes? The illustration is gorgeous.

I guess it might have been subconscious, the more I have on my mind the more detailed my work seems to get but this style is usually done when there is WAY too much for my mind. Then I just veg out and let my hands draw and my mind wonders. It sounds odd but its kinda like a form of meditation/therapy.

I don't think its about a bad guy vs good guy. Its more like those that would give their lives for the happiness of others but spend their own lives being overlooked and never finding the kind of happiness that seems to come so easily to others - I think. I know I was thinking a lot about rejection, death, love and self sacrifice... not sure those tie up together but perhaps thats why I am so confused by the image.

I dont know about the st Georges cross. But it is a crusaders tunic - not the Templar Knights but rather the English "christian" Knights. In some images the cross is red but in other images the cross is blue so I wasnt sure what was correct ~ just whent for a purplish colour.
